McKown's Weekend

Our weekend was jammed full!   Our friends Andrea and Nate McKown were down from KC to volunteer at the Price Cutter Charity Golf Tournament.   They spent Thursday-Sunday with us.    It was great to see them and visit.

I'm disappointed in my lack of picture taking from the weekend - but I'll still share what we did!

Friday night we invited Kasey and Jason Gillham to join us and I grilled ribs/chicken and sides.   We played a fierce game of Clue in which Kasey won.   Saturday the guys did a little work in Marshfield and the girls headed to get pedicures.    Saturday night we took them to the Springfield Cardinal game.  The weather was perfect.    The Marines flew the flag in (I did get a picture of that.)

On Sunday, we joined Andrea and Nate to watch the final day of the golf tournament.  Again - perfect weather.

It was great to see them and catch up.    We look forward to seeing them again in a few weeks up in KC!

I had Rob take another belly picture this weekend - 25 weeks!!   We are moving right along.   I finally have an idea in mind for the nursery.   I'll start that project in the next few weeks.   I'm going to attempt to make my own bedding so we'll see how that goes :)

Here is the 20 and 25 week pictures so you can see the progress.   Have a great week!

Concert weekend

Last weekend we to Kansas City with our friends Dale and Melanie Replogle to see the Zac Brown Band/Kenny Chesney concert.  It was so much fun!    Probably one of the better concerts we've seen.

It was held at Arrowhead Stadium.  While it was hot - 92 - it didn't feel as bad as it has been.  There was also a breeze most of the time.   We tried to stay in the shade and drank lots of water.

The concert started at 4:30 with Uncle Kracker, then Billy Currington, Zac Brown Band and Kenny Chesney to finish it off.   At the very end, Zac Brown Band and Kenny Chesney came out together and sang several more songs and covered some songs - so much fun!

Memories

Three years ago today, my wonderful husband asked for my phone number at the demolition derby in Marshfield - and I was smart enough to give it to him.

That wonderful man also sent me flowers today:
Wow I'm blessed!   Love you and thank you for tapping me on the shoulder 3 years ago :)

We are half way there!!!

This last weekend marked the halfway point for Baby Foster!!   20 weeks down, 20 weeks to go!!!   I know these last 20 weeks will fly by - especially since I have not done anything to prepare :)    I've done a lot of looking, have a lot of ideas, but I've yet to act on them.

I had Rob take my first pregnancy picture after having several friends tell me I need to document the progress.

20 weeks pregnant:

The only other picture I have to share is the cute onesie Rob bought the baby last time we were in St. Louis at the Cards game:

Hope everyone is staying cool in this heat.   We have an outdoor concert coming up in 2 weeks so I need it to cool down!

I'm home!

I finally made it back home!!!    I decided 3 weeks away from home is WAY too long.   For those that don't know, I had to work in Joplin after the tornado for 21 days.    It ended up being 26 days before this girl had a day off and I was ready!

Last weekend - my first weekend back home - we headed up to St. Louis to see our nephew John sing the national anthem at the Cardinals game with the Junior Jays.   They did fantastic!     The lucky devil also one a raffle to be on the field during batting practice!!!   I'm still super jealous.    He picked his Uncle Rob to go with him as one of his guests.

Here are a few pictures I took while I had to sit in the stands.................

It was a great weekend.  The Cards lost which we hate to see but the weather was fantastic.   Rob also bought the baby the cutest onesie!! -

That'll be right!

Speaking of baby - we are trucking right along.   I'll be 18 weeks this weekend based on how I've been measuring.   Every time he measures, it shows my due date as November 29th.  So of course that's what I'll go with!   I can't believe we are almost half way there!

Back to St. Louis this weekend for 2 Cardinal games.   We have great seats and I can't wait to be there!

BABY!!

Now I get to use that title and apply it to us!!!   That's right - the Foster family is growing!

We made the announcement to the families on Mother's Day.   Had Rob's family and my family over for a BBQ that day.   Rob and I put an ultrasound picture in the cards for the moms.   It was so fun finally being able to share the news!!  It was hard to keep secret!

After we had lunch with the moms, we drove to Buffalo and told my dad, stepmom and grandparents.

I'm about 12 weeks a long and we will have our new buddle of joy arrive around the 1st of December.

Here are a few pictures with the families after sharing the news....

Women of Joy

The weekend of April 29th was the Women of Joy christian conference in Branson, MO.   It was the first time I attended.  My friend Sharon invited me to attend.  It was amazing.    The speakers were great and Saturday night Casting Crowns performed.   They were amazing.  The speakers really spoke to me.  I bought a DVD of the speakers to share with my bible study girls.

We are signed up to go next year!
